Following our mission to develop a vibrant community for international arts engagement, Arts Diplomacy Network is seeking new writing fellows to join our team.
Our writing fellows are emerging leaders in the fields of cultural diplomacy, international relations, and civic arts engagement who are seeking exposure and arts writing mentorship in a structured environment. There is no cost to participate and no financial compensation offered to writing fellows.
These posts are intended to stimulate dialogue among practitioners, scholars, researchers, and professionals in arts diplomacy and international arts engagement. We invite writers to contribute on any of the following topics:
- Arts-based public diplomacy or international arts engagement
- Technology or media related to arts-based civic engagement
- New modes of participation and collaboration
- The role of the arts in creative economies around the world
- Issues and policy surrounding arts exchanges
- Best practices and case studies in performing arts, visual, or other cultural diplomacy
However, we will happily consider contributions on any international arts diplomacy topics as well. The fellowship term will typically last 3-4 months, during which fellows will be expected to contribute 2-4 posts to our website, artsdiplomacy.com.
Writing fellows will receive exposure to the Arts Diplomacy Network readership, including publicity in our social media feeds and promotion of the fellows’ own work as appropriate during the fellowship term. Fellows may also use this opportunity to interact directly with top researchers, consultants, and leaders in the field in the course of their writing assignments. Fellows are welcome to cross-post content generated for Arts Diplomacy Network on their personal blogs.
If you are interested in this opportunity, please read the full guidelines in the PDF below and send a topic proposal via email with the subject line “ADN Writing Fellowship” to info@artsdiplomacy.com. Please include a 2-4 sentence biography, contact information, and a writing sample of 250-500 words.
